Wildlife of the Lake Louise area
Birds, mammals, and other wildlife in Banff National Park and the Bow Valley. The Lake Louise corridor is prime grizzly habitat; bears are present on and near virtually all trails from spring through fall. Bighorn sheep are commonly spotted on the road to the ski area. Pikas call from the talus slopes above the treeline throughout summer, you will hear the sharp "eep" before you see them.
