Terrain
Flat, exposed lake; icy shoreline

Lake-surface and shoreline ski route when officially marked and maintained. No dogs.

A distinct opportunity to ski directly across the frozen surface of Lake Louise. This loop combines the flat lake surface with a slightly more technical return through the woods.

Tracksetting & Terrain

  • Lake Surface: Usually single trackset. Flat and exposed to wind.
  • Shoreline Trail: Narrower, often icy, and can be "poor" condition due to foot traffic.

Safety Warning

Only ski on the lake surface when it is officially marked and trackset. Avoid the outflow area near the Chateau where the ice is thinnest. Stay away from the cliffs at the back of the lake due to spontaneous avalanche risk.
