A backcountry hut built in 1931–32 by Jim Boyce as a transitional shelter on the trail between Lake Louise, Temple Lodge (1938), and Skoki Lodge. A well-proportioned rectangular log structure with gable roof in the rustic tradition; it provided a resting place for travelers heading to Skoki and formed part of the network of legendary lodges that defined early Lake Louise skiing. Breaks up the trip for those not quite as fit; offers great skiing all around.
