Weeping Wall

Icefields Parkway, Cirrus Mountain

A series of waterfalls cascading down a 100 m cliff on Cirrus Mountain, 106 km north of Lake Louise along the Icefields Parkway. In winter the falls freeze into massive pillars of ice, making the Weeping Wall a primary destination for technical ice climbing.

The site is classified as a high-avalanche-hazard zone; Parks Canada frequently closes the area for avalanche control. Backcountry access to nearby Panther Falls requires avalanche training and rescue equipment; the trail sits within a slide path.
