Mount Aberdeen
Paradise Valley
A glaciated peak south of Mount Fairview in Paradise Valley. Mount Aberdeen (3,152 m) is distinguished by its impressive North Glacier; a prominent ice “tongue.” Named in 1897 for the Earl of Aberdeen, then Governor General of Canada.
Climbing. Rated Alpine II; the North Glacier route requires crampons, ice axes, and glacier travel skills. A “classic adventure.” Often summited with Haddo Peak (3,070 m) in a “double summit” day; the traverse between them crosses glacier ice. Approach via Paradise Valley trailhead or Saddleback Pass trail.
