Glacier Discovery Centre
Columbia Icefield, Icefields Parkway
The primary visitor hub for glaciology on the Icefields Parkway, located at the Columbia Icefield 127 km north of Lake Louise. The centre offers Ice Explorer tours onto the Athabasca Glacier and interpretation of glacial retreat and the hydrological triple divide.
The facility is designed for accessibility, including wheelchair lifts onto the Ice Explorers. The Glacier Skywalk; a glass-floored platform 280 m above the Sunwapta Valley; is accessed from the centre.
